As you may know the mid-Midwest is getting pounded off & on by rain tonight. Well I just drove around one storm & right into another. Non related photo added.
As I got into the storm an oblivious woman driving with just the DRL on her cx-7 or the like. I tried flashing my brights as she just passed me, then the rain got really heavy and she basically disappears. I had to turn on my brights to see where she was, but then she brakes, and I pass her flash my tail lights about 8 times, then just give up & haul ass away.
5 or 6 of the next people I pass were going slow, in the left lane with hazards on. I guess they don’t understand that it makes it hard for others behind them to see with the water on the windshield lit up.
I also came up on a truck hogging the left lane, as I was passing another car I flashed my brights, he got over, then after I passed flashed his twice in what I would consider him being mad I suggested he mover over in the right lane so I could pass.
I’m here in Galesburg, IL safe from the rest of the dumb asses that are still out driving.
That dude had balls to park that car about an inch from the parking curb.

i’ve seen loads of these drivers. most don’t have a clue about anything at all. For example, a driver in an Escape had their lights off in the middle of the night, on a highway with no lighting. I started flashing once I spotted them, and turned the lights on and off repeatedly, even the big rig behind me me joined in. We were doing that charade for about 2 minutes until the driver of the Escape figured it out, just as the lights came on, the driver took off, only to be caught up with five minutes later.

Dipshits like that are why I really like driving agile cars when I must drive on public roads. Bright lights, good brakes, light weight, and a good suspension go a long way towards avoiding the appliance drivers.

You think that’s bad? I live in Southern California, nobody realizes it rains and they only see water at the beach or in a plastic bottle. Now, take the incompetence of not knowing how to drive in the rain (Cause it never fucking does in SoCal, we're not suffering a drought for nothing) and multiply it by the already bad drivers we have hear, and you will always see at least one police SUV directing traffic in order to prevent accidents from happening.

I’m finding that lately I have less and less tolerance for people who don’t move right when they are finished passing. Even from the middle lanes. I’m inclined to high-beam middle lane riders as well in less populated areas. I kinda get it when it’s urban and there are a lot of onramps/offramps and generally heavy traffic. But when there are miles and miles between exits, and traffic is light, use the right lane. Argh!

Is the ‘water shaming’ still going on? It’s fallen out of the national news lately...

Either it's fallen out of popularity from the obvious hypocrisy of "Open minded progressives" (This is Cali after all) shaming people online for their choices, or it's just become a lot more obscure. Hopefully it's the former rather than the latter.
